Spring is here! (Although today felt more like winter). With that being said, there are a few activities, that I would like to add on here this evening. One of the events that I am excited to attend soon is The Lion King on Broadway, which will be showing at the Aronoff in Downtown Cincinnati. My daughter and I are extremely excited and looking forward to attending what I hear is a spectacular show! Check www.cincinnatiarts.org/aronoff-center for show time dates, times, as well as ticket prices..

Other Family Friendly things to look into during spring break are $5 movie tickets at participating movie theaters within the Cincinnati area such as Cinemark, Rave, The Kenwood Movie Theater, and AMC Westchester. If you are unable to catch a movie during the week. Check out an early matinee to cut on the cost.

Anther place that I plan to visit soon is the Sports Plus in Evendale, Ohio on Reading Road. I would love for my daughters and I to experience the Zip City activity that takes place. This is basically an indoor zip lining activity for both adults and children. For more information regarding this activity and others at this Sports Plus location please visit them online at http://www.sportsplusohio.com.

These are just a few things that you can do with your children during spring break. Enjoy and most of all be safe!

Good Evening Loves.  I wanted to share a recipe this evening that I tried today. The Recipe is listed below.

Mexican Tortilla Soup

Total Time: 20

Makes/Yield: 8

Categories: Soups and stews, Mexican

Ingredients

- 1 lb Cooked chicken; cubed

- 1 Carton of Mexican Tortilla Broth (Swanson)

- 1 can of tomato paste

- 1 can Whole kernel corn; undrained

- 1 cup Cheddar cheese; shredded

- Sour cream

- Tortilla chips.

  -Onions

  -Green Peppers

- 1 can of tomatoes

-1 tbsp. of canola oil

-Salt and Pepper to taste

Apply a generous amount of canola oil to a skillet. Apply the seasoned chicken (I used Lawry’s Garlic Sea Salt to season the chicken) to the hot oil and cook thoroughly. (Until it is no longer pink)I applied  1tbsp of Canola oil to a pot and cooked until the oil was hot. I then added the onions and green peppers to the pot. After the onions and peppers become soft, add the tomato paste. Stir the mixture for about 1 min. Then add the corn, tomatoes, broth, and cooked chicken to the pot and bring to a boil. Afterwards, let the soup simmer for about 10. Once the soup is done, you may add the sour cream, tortilla chips and cheese per serving. I hope you enjoy the easy yet delicious recipe!
